Since moving to the States, I have gained close to ten pounds. Food is so readily available and affordable in the States, everything is larger compared to the UK, the roads, houses, food… Most appetizers (starters) in the States are the size of large entrées (mains) in the UK, talk about supersize!
Now people who know me personally, know that I love to eat, whether it’s at home or at a restaurant, I’m not shy when it comes to good food. Needless to say, my transition to the States started to show in places I rather it didn’t. Hence, I joined the Dr Oz, 28-Day Shrink Your Stomach Challenge.
Now the lunch time menu for this 28-Day Challenge is a fruit and fiber combo so I made this Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Apples. It’s a simple dish and so easy to make.
16 oz Brussels Sprouts
2 Granny Smith Apples
½ Red Onion
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tbsp Basting Oil
Season with Salt & Pepper
Prep your ingredients. Clean and quarter Brussels Sprouts. Cut onions and Granny Smith Apples. In a large frying pan, add Olive Oil then the Brussels Sprout, Granny Smith Apples and Red Onions. Season with Basting Oil, Salt & Pepper. Stir for 8 to 10 minutes. Serves 2. Enjoy!
